They finished their hike in just under two hours. Claudia’s muscles ached in a most welcomed way, because she loved to walk and workout. She considered adding “hike” to her list of preferred fitness. She leaned against her car as she took in his frame.

Malik had the face and the body of a god. His likeness should be replicated and placed in a museum for humans to admire for years to come. How the hell had she gone from despising this man to lusting after him in the worst way? Malik’s clothes were powerless to hide the ripped outlines of his arms and legs. He hadn’t even broken a sweat.

“I want to see you again, Claudia,” he said. Malik’s gaze fixated on her lips as he made his declaration.

She unconsciously tucked hers between her teeth. “OK.”

The ring of her cell phone sounded simultaneously with the massive grin on Malik’s face. Claudia stood from her restful position near her car. “This is work. Give me a second.”

“Handle your business, Ms. Vaughn.” Malik took the opportunity to admire her ass in her one short leg and one full-length leg, pair of yoga pants. They were like a mashup of shorts and pants. Did she get those custom made? Shit! He decided to retrieve his phone to distract himself from his salacious thoughts and to see if he had any missed calls or emails that required his attention. Claudia’s light giggles interrupted his scroll. What the hell?

“It’s not a problem. I can send it when I get back to my car. Yes, it has oil,” she said into the phone.

It didn’t sound like work to Malik. Her response to whoever the hell was on her phone had her almost as relaxed as he’d made her. What the hell was he supposed to do in this situation? She didn’t belong to him, although he was convinced her body did. Malik figured since she was divorced and clearly still affected by it, that she was single.

Shit! The last thing Malik needed was to get twisted up in some rich people drama. He hadn’t even taken the time to search her name on the internet. Maybe she’d gotten a divorce because she was the one who cheated on a Butner. Claudia was a beautiful and surprisingly freaky woman.

She returned to face him in less than two minutes. She gave him a quick smile than tapped away on her phone. After another moment or so, he snatched it.

“Hey,” she said as she unsuccessfully tried to get it back.

“I’m not OK sharing your attention with anybody else.” His tone was even. She realized this was a boundary of his and one she didn’t mind accepting, but the sound of his words made her body tremble with desire.

“Did you want to make plans now? Or do you just want to call me later?” Claudia spoke through her body’s response to him. She hadn’t wanted to sound eager, but she wouldn’t let her pride keep her from an opportunity to see him again.
